History

ACIS has been delivering real-time passenger information solutions since 1995. Initial client orders were secured from Hampshire County Council,  Merseytravel and CENTRO in the West Midlands. These projects were typical for this time in the 1990's where real time passenger information was seen to be at the heart of bus transport improvement programmes.

ACIS acquired the Williams Industries BusNet in 1998, this GPS based system formed the foundation of the current ACIS signature bus system platform. The Williams acquisition also brought in a number of existing BusNet users in the local authority and bus operator sectors. First Bus in Aberdeen became ACIS' first BusNet Live customer, an innovative product providing bus operators and Local authorities to view the effectiveness of this cutting-edge management tool.

In 2005 ACIS acquired Newbury based Tandata Systems Ltd., a highly respected software house and systems integrator specialising in information systems for passenger transport facilities including Bus and Coach Stations, Rail Stations and International Airports.

ACIS is now the largest supplier of real-time passenger information solutions throughout the UK and is continually growing through Europe and North America with over 100 operational clients. ACIS continues to lead with investment in new technologies, such as Web, SMS, House displays and Digital TV to disseminate travel information to communities.
