ACIS and Cambridge County Council trial innovative Intelligent Bus Stop Display
Cambridge County Council has invited ACIS to trial its new intelligent bus stop display called IBIS (Intelligent Bus Information System). The IBIS display will trial at four locations across the county throughout November to the end of February.
The IBIS display presents scheduled and real-time passenger transport information in an easy to use interactive display unit that can be shelter of pole mounted. With the improved level of information available through the IBIS unit, this trial will be playing a substantial role in Cambridge County Councils Transport Innovation Funding due to be submitted early 2008.
The IBIS functionality stretches further than transport information, timetables and route maps, The display provides news feeds, weather bulletins and local information pages (shopping and missing persons notices) which makes this unit flexible in purpose although lends itself and an obviously invaluable tool within public transport.
