Web access - ACIS Live
The ACIS system can disseminate real time information to passengers through the use of a web site. Departure boards can be viewed, and maps displayed, showing moving vehicles and stops along the route.
The web site brings a convenient pre-journey real time public transport information service to the passenger, and makes full use of the information provided by the BusNet system. The web site delivers real time information to the passenger before their journey, whether at home, the office or at school. This means that they can check their bus journey time before even leaving for the bus stop.
Passengers may select the bus stop of their choice by any of the following methods:
- By entering the unique stop reference number
- By selecting a public service and then choosing the bus stop
- By postcode
- By area
- By selecting from map images
The departure information is displayed using schedule information (for a non RTI service) or real time predictions, predicting the departure of a bus from the stop.
Other features of the site include:
- The ability to see nearby stops from a given point - This may be from a stop, a postcode or from other points the user navigates to. This view gives the user the option of highlighting the stop on a map, seeing the real time departures and seeing the services and destinations from the stop.
- Stop and vehicle locations on maps
This includes up to 4 zoom levels, navigation via clickable map areas and pan buttons and by clicking on an arrow see the real time departures from the stop.
- The ACIS Live site is designed to provide a number of configurable parameters according to Local Authority colour schemes, logos and route data.
Later planned releases will have alerts via email where passengers can be set up and receive information for specified stops and buses.
