Performance Monitoring (Live)

The ACIS platform has a variety of tools for reporting the real time dynamic vehicle performance. These tools allow the user to compare real time performance against timetabled or contractual limits.

Vehicle Viewer - GIS

ACIS Vehicle Viewer is a map-based monitoring application for fleet management, which stores a history of vehicle movements. For monitoring purposes the user can view either constant vehicle 'snail' trails, or display a 'vapour' trail that shows the previous eight locations of the vehicle.

Depending on the functionality enabled by administrators, users can customise the detail of the system display. This includes:

  • View vehicle icons on route maps in their real time positions
  • View predictions and schedules displayed on virtual signs
  • Replay historical data at up to 20 times real time speed
  • Display alerts from vehicles and automatically zoom to vehicle on map display
  • Customise colour coding based on earliness/lateness
  • Have administrator-controlled functionality
  • Configure for single or multi operator system
  • Communicate with BusNet system via the Internet

Fleet Management (BusNet Live)

This is a web-based real time information application that increases service delivery efficiency to the bus operator. It does this by measuring the actual positions of buses and compares this with the timetabled positions of the buses to give an earliness or lateness indication. From a workstation or a PDA, a number of interlinking screens can be analysed. Simple to use menu structures, quick icons and shortcuts are made available to provide a user-friendly interface.

The package offers fleet management based upon targets and diagrammatic maps:

  • Multiple windows show different views of the system data, and can be viewed   simultaneously
  • Displays on multiple screens and resolutions (as supported by the operating system)
  • Fully sortable data tables, for a customised view
  • Windows automatic refresh every 30 seconds
Context-sensitive help is available from the main windows
